The Ballinger Fire Department was established in April 1905 and has been dedicated to over a century of service to the community and surrounding neighbors.

We have one paid firefighter and 27 volunteer firefighters on our roster.

We serve the City of Ballinger (pop. 3,700) and the southeastern area of Runnels County.

Our coverage area is approximately 450 square miles.

We are located 36 miles northeast of San Angelo and 54 miles south of Abilene.

We average about 125 calls a year.

We handle fire prevention, fire suppression and rescue incidents.

The department operates two engines, one ladder truck, one booster truck, three brush rigs, one 6,000-gallon water tender, one rehab unit and one command/support unit.
