Contractor Licensing Information

The City of Ballinger has by ordinance adopted registration requirements for contractors operating in the city. All licenses run on a yearly non-prorated fee, for the period between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31.

Roofing contractors: Shall provide an application with a copy of their general liability insurance, responsible party contacts and a warranty bond (not a license bond).

 

Electrical contractors: Shall provide an application with a copy of their general liability insurance, the TDLR card for the electrical contractors license, and the TDLR card for the designated master electrician.

Sign contractors: Shall provide an application with a copy of their general liability insurance, the TDLR card for the electrical contractors license, and the TDLR card for the designated master electrician.

Residential wireman contractors: Shall provide an application with a copy of their general liability insurance, the TDLR card for the electrical contractors license, and the TDLR card for the designated master electrician.

Plumbing contractors: Shall provide an application with a copy of their general liability insurance, along with the TSBPE card for the designated master plumber.

HVAC / mechanical contractors: Shall provide an application with a copy of their general liability insurance, the TDLR card for the contractors license, and the EPA 608 or 609 cards.

Alarm contractors: While not required, upon voluntary request the City may issue an alarm contractor or installer who wishes to have a city registration as a supplement to their state licensure.

Irrigation contractors: Shall provide an application with a copy of their general liability insurance, along with the TDLR card for the license.

BAP / RPZ / backflow contractors: Shall provide an application with a copy of their general liability insurance, along with the TDLR card for the license.

The application for licensure can be done in-person at City Hall (700 Railroad Ave.), via email at rjalomo@baltx.org, or standard mail.
