Parks and Recreation

City Park

Ballinger has a 20-acre city park located on the banks of Elm Creek at 120 Crosson Ave. A full-time caretaker keeps the park clean and well-maintained.

Nestled in a beautiful setting with green grass and large pecan shade trees, the park is ideal for family reunions and social functions. It is located at the bottom of the hill from the Community Center, so both facilities can be easily utilized together for events.

Ballinger's Municipal Swimming Pool greets visitors as they drive down the hill into the City Park. There's a large pool with diving boards and a slide, along with a "kiddie" pool.

For reservation information, contact the pool manager at 325-365-1200 or City Hall at 325-365-3511.

The park is also home to a 7,400 square-foot playground, Imagination Station, which was built in 2013.

A nine-hole disc golf course was installed in 2019.

The park also offers RV connections and facilities for $15 per day. Stop by City Hall, 700 Railroad Ave., or call 325-365-3511 to make reservations.

An RV dump station is located on the left when leaving toward the Park Street exit/entrance.

The pavilions in the park can also be rented for $15 per day.

City Lake

Ballinger Lake is located about 4 miles west of town near the intersection of FM 2111 and County Road 289.

Public restrooms, picnic areas, barbecue pits and a playground are available to visitors.

There are seven 50-amp hookups and nine 30-amp hookups. All campsites have water. There is a dump station near the restrooms.

All spots must be reserved in advance through City Hall at 325-365-3511.

Lake O.H. Ivie

Lake O.H. Ivie is located about 25 miles southeast of Ballinger off FM 1929.

Ivie is highly regarded by fishermen with numerous ShareLunkers caught in recent years. The lake also offers camping, boating and swimming.
